Congratulations to our Executive Director, Pam Heatherington, for receiving the Jim Peugh Conservation Award!

On November 13, 2025, the ReWild Coalition celebrated its 100th year anniversary, where our very own executive director, Pam Heatherington, was awarded the Jim Peugh Conservation Award!

Jim Peugh is a long-time member of the San Diego Audubon board and founding member of the San Diego River Park Foundation. Jim has been a dedicated leader in the conservation of San Diego’s natural wonders, previously serving as the chair of the City of San Diego’s Wetlands Advisory Board and now serving as the chair of Friends of Famosa Slough.

As mentor and good friend of Pam, Jim presented the award himself along with a speech to honor Pam’s hard work. To briefly summarize Jim’s words, Pam has been an outstanding leader in environmental advocacy, tirelessly involving herself in and managing multiple coalitions. With remarkable collaboration and grit, Pam has been a premier example of environmental leadership that inspires and emboldens local community action.
