Earth Day 2025

As we approach Earth Day 2025, we do so with unquestionable concern as the work so many have done over so many years is systematically being destroyed. May future generations carry on the fight for a livable and sustainable future

Finding Clarity in Chaos for Earth Day

In the heart of the storm where the tempest roars,
Lies a quiet whisper beneath nature’s wars.
Through the swirl of confusion, through shadows and fright,
We find clarity blooming, like stars in the night.

The rivers cascade with wild, untamed grace,
Yet in their fierce journey, they carve out their space.
Mountains stand sturdy, though storms may assail,
Their strength is a beacon when all else seems frail.

The cities may bustle, a cacophony loud,
Yet the heartbeat of nature is woven in crowds.
In the cracks of the pavement, in gardens that grow,
In chaos, there’s life—resilient and slow.

The winds carry stories from valleys to peaks,
In rustling leaves, the Earth gently speaks.
Through chaos, we gather; a chorus in tune,
As life dances boldly beneath sun and moon.

Let us lift up our voices, let our actions be clear,
In the chaos of living, the message is near.
To cherish and nurture, to heal and to mend,
For clarity blossoms where chaos can bend.

So, on this Earth Day, as we stand hand in hand,
Let’s honor our planet, our beautiful land.
Through the trials of chaos, we each play a part,
Finding clarity in nature, and peace in our heart.

We Have the Power to Impact Our Future, and We’re Doing Something About It

Our goal is to promote healthy natural systems in San Diego by inspiring a deeper understanding and appreciation of positive environmental change and advocacy while working to improve the quality of life and economic vitality of our community.

Educate

ECO San Diego’s education programs are focused on K-12 children. We help them connect, understand, appreciate, and love our local species.

Collaborate

ECO San Diego is a strong supporter of all the wonderful organizations in our region doing important work to make our community a better, healthy, more just place.

Environmental Leadership Summit

Environmental, community, labor, housing, justice, climate leaders meet to address local challenges, forge solutions, and commit to collaboration.

Volunteer

The most frequent question asked by volunteers is “what can I do?”

On October 2, 2024 the San Diego Marine Protected Area (MPA) Collaborative met to discuss ongoing petitions and updates about the Southern California MPAs.

Our Projects

The opportunity to directly experience our beautiful natural resources is an important part of being a San Diegan and a present or future steward of those resources. That is why the Environmental Center of San Diego is committed to supporting appropriate public environmental programs.
